Madera, California Family-owned Riley’s Brewing Company is mass producing hand sanitizers for hospitals, first responders, senior care facilities and large companies and employing folks laid off from their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic. Initially, the move was meant as a favor to a few people but now Riley's Brewing has more orders than they can fill from local agencies and private businesses. "It's grown to something larger than they could possibly imagine. Some days, they have shipped out 2,000 cases. They have people come in all the time from the hospitals, police departments, animal control, even some of the schools come by to get their stuff so they are pretty proud of it," says president Daniel Riley. Because of the high demand, the brewery did not have to lay off any of their employees.
